Pico I don't understand your question?? Plus to add some things. Why does Mariko's hair change from pink to yellow to pink? I watched the last episode too and if you look at the hair of the person behind the door they have long hair, but have a short skirt on. They never did say how much time had passed since the last actual known scene of Lucy. Also, could be that girl from the manga with black hair that lived with all of them??

Since I have studied medical school and have learned a little about genes, I'll try to give my explantion here  As we know, the female gene is XX and the male is XY. Under the serie we get to know that diclonius is a disease that is spread through their vectors. We see that the young Lucy is touching one of the doctors in the forehead, wich spread the disease to him. When he was making the child with his wife, he spread the disease to the child. Let's say that the unborn child would be a boy, wich is the XY-gene. The "diclonius-disease" might have changed the XY into a XX-gene. This is what I belive what is happening. That's my conclusion why all the Diclonius is a female. I hope you did understand what I tryed to write here

I would agree with Elfenlucy about the disease. Though, it wasn't Kaede that touched the doctor **********Possible Spoilers, Manga/Anime this means you are warned *****************The only diclonius we see in the series that can reproduce is Lucy. The vector disease obviously forces the child to be female. Its not unheard of. There is ONE male diclonius shown in the series. He is introduced as the only one. This is in the manga. He is Lucy's half brother. Her mom had the true mutation. Very little is known or told rather about her brother. He does have the device in his head that was prototyped for the 4 clones made of Mariko. Which, for anyone reading this who hasn't read the manga despite the spoiler warning, helps control their killing urge, and makes them more or less obedient children. So one could theorize that the males would have the same killing urge. Now entering Loce thinking. Lucy was born by pure evolution. She wasn't born by the vector disease. I believe this is why she didn't manifest her killing urge at the much younger age every other diclonius did. The killing desire of her DNA is there to remove "threats" to an ideal society. I do not think it would have ever developed had she been given a happy childhood. Her DNA allows her to reproduce which could have given her a son. Slowly the vector disease relatives would remove the human "threat" and allow the "true" DNA to repopulate with peaceful Diclonius. Not only that, but after only one generation, the overly aggressive relatives would be gone. *******End Spoilers***************** Its almost 8 am I am going to bed now though, hope that made you think.  |

Kurama was taken by a different girl which made a human reproduce a diclonius-Mariko. Plus the girl who was shot by the cops on the top balcony is also presumed true diclonius and not a test tube baby. Actually everyone who worked for kakuzawa had made a diclonius baby. Only as one can we live to see another day.

No, if you read the manga, it's possible to have a male diclonius. It requires a lot of tampering with DNA though. Lucy had a brother, a true one (Like the king), but she killed him.

Well practically all the Diclonius are female in the manga and the anime. But Lucy's half brother is male so i guess the vector virus is a x-linked virus that has more of a chance to pass on the female individuals. Its just my guess xD |

Hmm, but what if another mutation accurs? i mean, it can happen, like things with twins... im not a biologist or anything like it, but it MAY be possible after all. we were shown like... what? a dozen or more diclonius' but there were supposed to be at least a hundred. I wouldve guessed that one of the studies they did in the research facility was to discover why almsot all the diclonius are females... just a guess though. |

Kakuzawa and his son weren't Diclonii? Or is that just speculation? Or is that only in the manga? I just want to know because I'm writing a fanfic that will explain what happened after the end of the anime. Ya' know what? Screw it. That's not important. According to Science to define a speiceis you must have a male and a female or a known form of whole replication. So as mammals and homonids there must be male and female Diclonius however the birth rate of females to males is perhaps 2/3s greater.(female is the dominant and default gender) it fallows evolutionary law fairly closely Read my A scientific Look at diclonius*the latest one* it should explain somethings I am Diclonius Essence
